Benefits of Learning an Instrument
Applying oneself to a musical instrument teaches self-discipline, respect for the instrument and teaching environment, hard work to achieve a goal, and prolonged focus. These qualities will be useful throughout life, and can be applied to multiple other disciplines, while enriching the student's life. |
Suzuki OrientedAs a Suzuki-trained teacher, I keep the Suzuki philosophy in mind and put it into practice. I work to create a fun learning environment, while giving helpful critiques and instruction. My role is to guide, correct and encourage my students to become better musicians and citizens.

Using Both Sides of the BrainMusic engages both the logical, critical thinking side of the brain, and the creative, imaginative one. This can be especially helpful in early development, in exercising the whole brain, and in further development of fine motor skills.

"Rebecca has been teaching violin for both my sons as part of the String Project Program. She is a wonderful teacher who understands how to work with them based on their personality. Her teaching style worked for us well, she sets a high bar while working on a piece before moving on to the next piece. She is patient and provides great suggestions on how to improvise while working through a piece."
