Benefits of Learning an Instrument
Applying oneself to a musical instrument teaches self-discipline, respect for the instrument and teaching environment, hard work to achieve a goal, and prolonged focus. These qualities will be useful throughout life, and can be applied to multiple other disciplines, while enriching the student's life. Using Both Sides of the Brain
Music engages both the logical, critical thinking side of the brain, and the creative, imaginative one. This can be especially helpful in early development, in exercising the whole brain, and in further development of fine motor skills. Teaching Philosophy As a Suzuki-trained teacher, I believe that anyone can learn an instrument! I work to create a fun learning environment, while giving helpful critiques and instruction. My role is to guide, correct and encourage my students to become better musicians and citizens. |
